Lucy Pickford, Mixed Media Artist

I’ve painted since she was about 8 years old, and I haven’t stopped. Having originally trained in both Landscape Architecture and Art History, I draw on my experiences to bring an alternative perspective to the landscapes I paint.

The landscape architecture has never quite left me and I still look at the world through its streetscapes and thresholds, looking at the combination of human design and nature in everything. I predominantly work in acrylics and watercolour but have recently expanded into cyanotypes, producing prints, hangings and lampshades, exploring similar themes through new mediums. 

My Japan series was exhibited at Hoxton 253 in July 2019 and more recently my London Grows show was at Batsford Books and Gallery in November 2023. 

I’ve exhibited in several group shows since 2020 both online and offline, with regular pieces in BobCat Gallery’s Putney location. In 2021, I curated the ‘Crossing the Liminal’ group show for ArtCan at Hampstead Garden Gallery in and had my work featured on the screens of Flannels Oxford Street store as part of the W1 Curates #LightItBlue initiative.
